Releasing the breath she felt as though she'd been holding since her little speech, she relaxed a little, and smiled back. "Then see me in them you shall, once a proper occasion arises..." She looked down at her shoes for a moment, then back. "I should be going then." She had much to do, if she was to stay in town. Her earthly belongings were packed in the carpetbag that was starting to grow heavy, and she had given up her room. She needed to find a new place to stay, move in, and get ready to work again tonight.
"I suppose I'll see you tonight, then?" She said lightly, as she moved to pick up the package containing the dress she had just put down.

Masters hesitated for a moment, unsure whether or not he'd be around later. It all depended on how things worked out with Rose. "Possibly," he told her, "I may have plans later." And that much was the truth, though he wondered if she's press him on what those plans might be.

Katie eyed him a moment, wondering at his hesitation, then shrugged. "You know where I'll be." She murmered, and turned to go back down stairs. As she descended into the bar, she felt Lewis' curious stare. She looked up at him and shrugged again. "I guess I'll be seeing you tonight." She said, shifting the weight of her bag from one hand to another and moving towards the bar. "I've heard tell of a right decent inn in this part of town, looking to relocate. Five something. Could you give me directions, Lewis?"

The idea that she'd be working here again surprised Lewis a bit, he had no idea of the details but knew it wasn't pretty. "Oh easy.." he said with a smile, pointing towards the west. "Just down the street, next blow over, cant miss it."

It even looked grand from the outside. Too expensive for longterm, unless she made a killing in tips, or opened up business for herself, but who knew? She was sick of Paradise street, could afford better, and would live so. It'd be better to separate herself from the type of women good, hard-working women in shabby but modest clothing turned their noses up at, too, if she truly wished for a change.
Clutching her bags, she climbed the stairs of the porch, nodding to a gentleman who smoked a pipe and watched her without a word, then stepped in, looking for a reception desk of some sort.

The desk was right in front of the door, and sitting behind it was the Lady herself. She was reading an old dime novel, before setting it down and rubbing her eyes. When the door gave a soft jingle of bells, she looked up and smiled.
"Welcome to the Five Grace hotel!" Rose said then realizing it was the young lady from Church on Sunday she gave another large smile. "Ms. Katie isn't it?" Rose reached up and smoothed a lone hair that escaped from her bun. "It's good to see you. How are you?" She asked, her tone warm.

Kate's eyes lit up with recognition, and she returned the smile warmly, setting down her bag by the desk. "Ms. Rose, yes! I'm doing well, thank you, and yourself?" She was caught of guard, that Rose had remembered her name. Normally that would intimidate her, perhaps, but from the graceful young woman who had befriended her at church -of all places- it was a pleasant surprise.
"It's lovely to see you again, as well," she continued, and meant it, "I've come in search of a room, my previous accomodations stopped being acceptable as soon as I could afford something more." She chuckled.

"I'm doing quiet well. "
Knowing that Katie had just moved to town she looked at her roster and smiled. "How long are you planning to stay here? We can discuss it over tea, if you like" Rose smiled, and stepped out from behind the counter.
"Here, let me put your bags behind the counter while we enjoy a cup of tea, or coffee if you perfer" She reached for the bags with a smile. She was delighted to see the other woman again.

"Tea would be perfect, thanks." Katie smiled with relief at the welcoming look on the other woman's face, and handed over her bags as directed. Normally she wouldn't part company with her luggage - her life was too dependent on the treasures buried in side - but something about this girl made her quite comfortable. "It's nice to see you again, Ms. Rose."

"And you Ms. Katie! Really I'm so glad you stopped in, and I'll help you out any way I can. I know how hard it is for a woman to get *good* lodgings out here." Rose smiled and lead her into the parlor, Jane, catching sight of them waved.
"I be gettan ya tea Miss. Ya's jus sit 'n I be right back" Jane said waving Rose back to her seat. In a moment she was back tea tray ready and prepared. She set it down and patted Roses' shoulder. " Missa Rose a top fine lady heres." and with a smile she moved back into her domain of the kitchen.
Rose flushed at Jane's praise and shook her head. "Help yourself. So, how's Lost Haven been treating you so far?" She asked, polite but true interest in her voice.

((sorry its been so long))
Katie settled into her chair, smiling back at Jane as she left the room, and turned her attention back to Rose and the tea before her. "I'm adjusting to small town life, at first it was a little intimidating but it's quite cozy once you get used to it."
She sipped her tea, and sat back. "This is a lovely establishment, really, Ms. Rose." She was very impressed that a woman owned and ran something so large and fancy, and yet respectable. Not something she had come across often in her experience.

((Hey no problem! Welcome back!!))
"That's what I thought too when I first moved here." Rose agreed with Katie's comment on adjustment. She added a spoon full of sugar to her tea and a splash of milk. Picking up the glass she sipped it.
"Thank you very much, and please it's just Rose. I try to keep this place as respectiable as I can. Some of the older women don't like it, but most are happy to see me doing so well. " She set her tea down and smiled.
"And work, have you found work yet Ms. Katie? It can be hard to find good work that isn't...uh..."Rose flushed and smiled. "Harsh I suppose is a good word. It's hard to find work that isn't harsh."
