The Civil War is over and the resulting economic explosion spurs the great migration west, with farmers, ranchers, prospectors, killers and thieves seeking their fortunes in hopes of striking it rich with mining claims. Outlaws turn cow towns into armed camps with murder rates higher than those of modern-day New York or Los Angeles. Out of this chaos comes legendary Lawemen, Gunslingers and cowboys, some of which find their way to such towns as Lost Haven, located in the Arizona territories. With the discovery of silver in Arizona, Lost Haven become one of the queens of the boomtowns where the latest Paris fashions are sold from the back of wagons. With riches flowing freely through the streets of Lost Haven, a diverse mix of people are attracted to this atmosphere of greed which ensures that life in Lost Haven is anything but typical. Despite the dangers The Lawful and Lawless maintain a uneasy co-existence. But due to the bands of ruthless gangs, these years can be referred to as The Outlaw years..
Welcome to the Outlaw Years, a Role Playing Game set in the time of the Old West. This is a RPG that tells the stories of the western frontier from the year 1880 onward. The story is currently set around the fictional town of Lost Haven and surrounding areas in the Arizona territories during the time of the silver rush. During this time many people from across the United States gave up their entire lives in hopes of striking it rich in such boomtowns on the lawless frontier, which sets the stage for tales of lawlessness, gunslinger, heroic lawmen and the people just trying to realize their dreams of riches. By all means this RPG is intended for a mature audience given the gritty nature of the oldwest, so do be warned before proceeding any further.
We welcome all players to create characters and find their niche in this world, Outlaws, Shopkeepers, Barmaids, prostitues, Lawmen and beyond, you can pretty much anything you can think of within the limits of the period we're set in. If you aren't sure about what you want to do have a question about what kind of character you might play? Please send me a private message and I'll help you out. Though we try to maintain a certain sense of historical accuracy, probably half of what we know about the oldwest is myth so some leeway is given, and noone is perfect. But do try and keep the times in mind, Remember.. Theres no phone, no lights, no motorcar, not a single luxry! This is the frontier and its dusty and dirty, though many of the citzens of Lost Haven are quite fashionable and sophisticated.
The primary point of all of this is to just have a good time, and tell a good story. So get to it!
