Brief Personal History: William Sullivan was born in 1820 to an Irish Family in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Little is known about his early life though it was probably fairly difficult and harsh as it was for most Irish families during this time frame. What is known is at the age of 16 he enlisted in the United States Army where he served for four years in a few different units, primarily engaged in fighting
the Native American threat that faced the frontier settlers. After his service ended Bill ended up drifting along the American Frontier taking on different jobs for the next seven years, including serving as a deputy sheriff as well as providing Scouting Services for the United States Army. By the begining of 1849 he'd found himself down on his luck, with no money and not much of a future. That was until
news of gold discoveries in California finally made it back east which sparked the California Gold Rush. It was then that Sullivan became one of the nearly 80,000 forty-niners who'd eventually make
their way out to California.
Though he wouldn't strike it rich with a gold strike, he made a living providing different services on the frointer including working again as a Peace-Officer in different mining camps over the next four years.
During his time on the westcoast he developed a great distaste for Chinese working in the mining industry there. Eventually Bill worked his way back to the American Mid-West where he found work to be more steady then it had been on the west coast. At this point in time Bill had taken a liking to the power that came with being a peace-officer, regardless of the position he held he often used it to his advantage over personal enemies or to make money on the side.
In between those jobs though he also worked as a hired-gun and sometimes as a scout.
Over the next eight years Bill earned a reputation as a crooked lawman and was even ranout of Missouri after a particularly nasty incident. With the begining of the American Civil War he had found himself in Texas, joining the Frontier Regiment, a group that'd been established to defend against Indians and Crminals alike, made up mostly of men who were exempt from the Confederate draft. Serving in this capacity Bill earns a reputation as a decent marksman and fair law officer, mostly due to the fact he couldn't find a way to abuse his power. In 1864 the Frontier Regiment was lost to the Confederate Army who desperately needed men for the war. At this time Bill mysterously disappears ((To avoid possible service in the Confederate Army)) until the Govenor authorizes the formation of the Frontier Organization to replace the Frontier Regiment, again Bill finds service here for quite sometime. In the wake of the Civil War Bill would find himself unemployed again and finds work on cattle drives between Texas and Kansas, after a couple of drives he returned to working as a Peace-Officer, Scout and Indian Fighter over the next seven years serving in Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. By 1874 he was growing quite tired of his drifting ways and began
dreaming of striking it rich once more, and with this he heads to South Dakota to search for Gold and hopefully set himself up a nice retirement fund. Bill manages to survive by selling the gold he'd
found while panning in various creek and river-beds but the riches he hoped for continued to elude him. By 1876 Bill found himself prospecting for Silver in the Arizona territories along with a couple of partners. Unfortunately for them, other prospectors beat them to the rich veins of Silver but somehow Bill found himself there for the founding of Lost Haven, and given his 'impeccable' record as a peace-officer he becomes the towns first Town Marshal. The position becomes a dream job, allowing him to serve himself primarily and the people of Lost Haven second. With the rise of Elliot Masters and his influnce over the town, many under the table deals are made between Masters and the Marshal to allow him and his men to have free reign over much of the town. Bill also makes deals with other outlaws and criminals and because of this a mutual understanding is established where they keep most of their illicit activities confined to the area known as Hells Acre. By working both sides of the fence, Bill has made himself a modest fortunate and even a small house within the town limits as well as the feeling of power he so much enjoys. As it seems, there is no one who can challange his reign.
Personality: Bill can be a very charming, warm man if you're in good company with him and often enjoys the company of the Mayor, Town Doctor and other officals but truthfully he's a selfish man who'll take care of himself first and foremost always. Often his outward nature is sarcastic and witty, he makes no secret for his dislike for Chinese, Blacks or American Indians and is quite vocal in his crusade to remove the chinese population from the city. And if it comes down to it? He has no problem killing a man, and has done so before.
Other important notes: None.
