If you're reading this, you've probably already decided to join our board or are at least strongly considering it. To create a character for our board, please read through all of the rules and reference threads before attempting to create a character. First off, If you have any problems or questions, please direct them to myself or another staff member and we'll get to you as soon as possible. To create an original character, you need to take two steps, write a detailed profile on your character and then write a short 'audition' piece which reflects a sample of your writing skills, once thats completed the profile will be reviewed by our staff for approval or changes. I'll detail this a bit more.
First, The Profile. I would recommend that before writing up your profile, that you review all of the reference threads on the board, as well as check out some outside sources such as Wikipedia and so on, familiarize yourself with the universe as best as you can to make the character convincing in this setting. And please, keep in mind what is reasonable and what isn't, A character who has had to kill their parents, and who then has serious issues but goes on to be the best Gunslinger in the world is NOT reasonable, and trust us.. We've seen people attempt that before. Most people have very 'normal' lives, some don't.. The point is? Don't over do it.
Second, The Audition. Next we require you to write an audition, You can decide on the setting you want to write in, be it in the saloon or at home arguing with your wife to reflecting on your feelings over coming out west. If you need to, use Non-Playing Characters ((NPC)) for your character to interact in but please do not use any of the other players characters without permission. his must be written in the third person, which is basiclly the standard of all Role Playing Games out there.
