Brief Personal History: Born on May 4th 1853 to Jewish Immigrants who'd arrived in America from Germany just shortly before being born. Sarahs early life was marked by hardship suffered
by many early immigrant families who were trying to establish them in the New World. Despite the early hardships by the time they were of age, both parents made sure their children attended the local
Jewish Schools to get a proper education though in their spare time they helped out with the bakery their parents had established. By the age of ten their family life had become easier and more populated
with the addition of many brothers and sisters.
Though in time a rebellious streak began to formulate, especially when she realized at the age of 14 that she wanted to be an actress, a profession that her parents frowned upon. Shortly after her seventeenth birthday her and a friend made the decision, they ran away and joined a theatrical company, where they were hired as dancers. Over the next couple of years both young women learned the secrets of the trade when it came to entertainment, eventually ending up with a traveling theater company that lead them out west. Though her parents had shunned her for the most part, she was able to keep in contact with both sisters through letters but in 1873 she received the dreadful news that her sister Dinah and brother Samuel had died from an outbreak of the flu. However the worst happen when their company boss fired her after refusing his advances, leaving her stranded in Fort Worth, Texas with no money. This began a downward spiral for Sarah that'd last for a number of years. She struggled to survive on her own, taking odd jobs in shops, hostess jobs in saloons and even prostituting herself out to make ends meet. Ashamed of what she'd become she drifted further west instead of daring to return home.
Along the way she fell into the company of different men, some which offered positive influences, while others had quite a negative impact on her. But the hardship did serve one positive purpose, it toughened her up and made her realize she'd have to take control of her own destiny if she wanted to stay alive. After five years of hardshps, abuse and worse she broke the circle shortly after arriving in Phoenix Arizona, there she found employement making a modest living as a shop clerk, putting the her mathematical skills she'd learned at school to good use, she proved quite valuable. She also worked side jobs as a dancer and playing odd parts in various shows put on by the local theaters. Her 'big break' finally came in the spring of 1878 when the owner of the newly opened Harkness Theater in the boom town of Lost Haven discovered her one night on stage, he offered her a job with his theater, though the pay was only a slight improvement over what she was currently making, she accepted it and traveled to Lost Haven with him. Soon she was doing what she so dearly loved, preforming on stage at night and part time at Hickys Gunsmith & Undertaker shop during the day. Though she's been forced to make sacrifice and do somethings she'd hoped she'd gotten away from, she's carved out a modest life in the town of Lost Haven, having made a few good friends and earned a mostly good reputation for herself, she's vowed never to lose control again or let anyone get in the position to abuse her.
Other important notes: Shortly after arriving in Phoenix, she changed her name to Sarah Elizabeth Schonfeld to avoid sounding too 'Jewish' even though the name she chose had some Jewish connections. She picked the name Schonfeld based on a diviation of Schofield which she knew from a former boyfriends Smith & Wesson Schofield Revolver he carried. alcoholics
