Thursday 18th, 1880The pace of things had been rather insane the entire week for Cornelius as he raced from site to site, held meetings, sent telegraphs and tried to figure out what the next step was for their operations in Lost Haven, Of course that hadn't included the whole incident with Elliot Masters, that was a sore spot that was slowly eating away at him now. But for the moment the man seemed more like a nuisance then anything else, but tonight was going to be different! He'd accepted a invitation from Doctor Franklin to enjoy some of the night life tonight and then Friday? Well he intended on seeing Miss Rose and perhaps asking her to the theater or something equally as amazing. The sun was already begining to fall towards the horizon as he trekked down the street to Franklins office, his Pinkerton agent in tow. Though he believed Masters was a bit of a blowhard, there was no reason not to be safe of course. But hopefully it'd be a fasinating evening, with fasinating people. Doctor Franlin was a great drinking partner, so well traveled and cultured it was just amazing really. The man had more interesting stories then most of the 'western yokels' he'd met so far, even if they were stories set in far away lands. Tonight Henry was decked out of course, one of his finer suits and a derby hat topped it all off as he stepped up to Franklins door and knocked twice. "Doctor Franklin?"

There was a shuffle behind the door before it opened. Barton didn't encounter the doctor right away. It was O-Suzu who had opened the door to check out what 'yokel' was disturbing the peace. No, not really. She knew that doctor Franklin would be seeing this Barton guy today and that they would go out for a few drinks. Now, she didn't mind the doctor meeting with Barton, but the drinking part was just disgusting. Though... no, such thoughts had no room in her mind! “Good evening Mr Barton. Doctor Franklin will be ready any minute, please come in.” O-Suzu stepped aside to let him in.

Henry smiled warmly as she opened the door. "Good evening, Thank you." Slipping past her he removed his hat then turned to face her. Seeing her this close again reminded him of thep revious encounters with her, Not good. But he'd figured she'd be the one to greet him, why wouldn't she? It was just his luck thats why! "Uhm.. How are you this evening?" he askedher trying to sound gracious and warm. Somehow he figured she liked him less because of the fact he was taking the Doctor to a Saloon but what could he do?

It was one of those awkward moments. O-Suzu knew that she had been very strict with Barton during his little... accident -and the following treatment. “I'm fine, Mr Barton, thank you. It's just...” There she stopped for a second. Oh well, what was there to lose? Nothing. “I'm not too fond of the idea of someone dragging Sensei to consume alcohol. I don't like alcohol. It's only good for disinfection. Any other use makes people go crazy.” O-Suzu wanted to say more, but there was some rumbling and then a few moments later the doctor appeared. “Ah, Mr Barton, excellent. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to keep you waiting.”

Awkwardly Barton shifted his weight as she politely scorned alcohol. "Well.. Yes Alcohol can make some crazy." There was no doubt about that, and it seemed it really made people crazy here in Lost Haven. "Moderation is the key." he said smiling nervously, yes the woman scared him a little to sat the least and if something happened to Doctor Franklin? He figured she'd probably come and beat him up! However Franklin saved him further awkwardness with his appearance. Turning to Franklin he greeted him with a broad toothy smile. "No no Doctor, I was enjoying the good company." Or more like cowering in her shadow! "How are you this evening?"

There was a certain uneasiness, which both the doctor and his assistant sensed. Obviously, something made Young Barton nervous. Oh yes, doctor Franklin could easily determine what it was. O-Suzu, who else. “I'm fine, Mr Barton,” Charles replied. “I hope you are well? No more close encounters of the painful kind I hope?” Though, it was likely that Young Barton would, sooner or later, run into another cowboy/wannabe-outlaw/whatever who would give him a lesson in western “hospitality”.
Charles picked up his hat, “Shall we go?” The expression on O-Suzu's face was less than happy, but she decided against another quarrel over alcohol. “When will you come back?” She asked instead. “Oh, it might get a little late. You don't have to stay up.” Yet, he knew that she would most likely do exactly that.

Nervously Henry nodded and smiled, while fiddling with his hat. "OH no, no more painful run in's." he gave O-Suzu a sideglance and a quick smile before nodding to the Doctor. "Of course, after you Sir." he said gesturing for the door. Once they were safely out of earshot and moving down the streets he posed a question to Franklin. "Doctor Franklin, I dont think I've heard your opinion this..."
Turning his head he formulated his exact question before pitching it. "But what future does this town have in your opinion?" Everyone he'd talked to so far had grand visions for Lost Haven, but what about Franklin? A man so well traveled?

Interesting. Charles had to admit that. Barton had his dreams, that was obvious. Not to mention that such an endeavour was not only a big financial risk, but, as the recent past had proven, it also bore quite some risk for life and limb. “Well, this is usually not the first personal question people ask me, Mr Barton.” Indeed it wasn't. The first was usually about O-Suzu. “But you see, Mr Barton, I'm an old man. And I'm a doctor. I'm not really sure if my opinion counts for anything. It's people like you who can give this town a future, not people like me. What do you think?”

"Hardly a personal question I think Doctor.. Is it?" Henry fell silent for a moment pondering that question before dismissing it and giving his opinion on the matter. "Well.." He started, glancing down the street before looking again to Franklin. "I think this city has true potential, if the hills and mountains surrounding this town truly have the copper and silver the experts say?" He laughed softly, "It could fuel growth for a hundred years." Was he overly optimistic? Definitly, as were most of the dreamers in this town.
"I think it could become quite large personally."

“Well, I would say that my opinion about things is a rather personal thing,” Charles mused. Yes, this boy was a dreamer. And it was kind of amusing to see the similarities between him and O-Suzu. O-Suzu, too, was a dreamer, otherwise she wouldn't have come with Charles all across the globe into this remote little town in the, literal, ass end of nowhere. “But if there's really so much gold and silver in the mountains, it will start another gold rush, and then all of it will be gone faster, wouldn't it? More companies like yours would come as well. And then, once all the minerals are gone, what then? Take the gold rush in California, or just a few years ago in the Black Hills.” Charles shook his head. “All the problems that one caused. Gold makes people crazy.”
Rubbing his chin Charles then continued. “But it's somewhat amusing. You sound a bit like O-Suzu.”
